The Risk Register is where CIM Build surfaces all AI-detected design risks for your project — compliance gaps, missing details, and potential issues found across your uploaded drawings and specifications. Every risk includes a severity rating, a plain-language rationale, and links back to the affected drawings so you always know exactly what triggered the flag and what needs attention.

Reviewing risks

1

Open the Risk Register

Click Risk Register in the left sidebar to open the register.
2

Browse the risk list

The left panel lists all detected risks. Use the group selector at the top of the panel to switch between groupings — by severity, by workstream, or by sub-project. Each item in the list shows the severity level, current status, and a short description so you can scan quickly.
3

Open the Risk Detail panel

Click any risk to open the Risk Detail panel on the right. This panel shows:
  • Severity and status — the risk level and its current workflow state
  • Description and rationale — what was detected and why CIM Build flagged it
  • Affected drawings and documents — with direct PDF references to the relevant pages
  • Action items — specific tasks assigned to the relevant consultant

Filtering and searching

The toolbar above the risk list gives you several ways to narrow down what you see.
  • Search — click the search icon and type a keyword to find risks by text content.
  • Filter — click the filter icon to open the filter panel. You can filter by:
    • Status: Open, Closed, Approved, or Dismissed
    • Labels
    • Criticality
    • Date range
    • Workstream
    • Sub-project
  • Sort — reorder the list by date, severity, or code.
Combine filters with sorting to focus on the highest-severity open risks in a specific workstream — useful when preparing for a consultant review meeting.

Taking action on risks

  • Click Approve on any risk to confirm it needs attention and escalate it for action.
  • Click Dismiss to mark a risk as not applicable to your project. Dismissed risks remain in the register for audit purposes but are excluded from the default view.

Viewing modes

Switch between three views using the mode selector at the top of the register.
The default view. Shows a flat list of all risks in the register, grouped by your chosen grouping (severity, workstream, or sub-project). Start here to get an overview of what CIM Build has detected.
Shows action items grouped by risk, making it easy to see exactly what each consultant needs to address. Use this view when distributing work to your team or reviewing progress on outstanding items.
Opens a visual canvas showing the drawings with risks annotated directly on them. This view is useful for understanding the spatial context of a risk — you can see exactly where on a drawing an issue was found.

Exporting

Click the Download button in the toolbar to export the full risk register — including risks and their associated action items — as a PDF or Excel file. Use PDF for sharing with stakeholders and Excel when you need to sort or process the data further.
