The Google Drive integration lets you browse your Google Drive — including My Drive, Shared With Me, and any Shared Drives you have access to — and import files directly into CIM Build without downloading them locally first. Once connected, a Google Drive file picker appears in the upload flow wherever you would otherwise drag and drop local files. The connection is per-user: each team member connects their own Google account independently.

Connect your Google Drive account

1

Open Settings

In CIM Build, navigate to Settings using the sidebar. Select Integrations from the Settings menu.
2

Initiate the connection

Locate the Google Drive Integration card. It shows the status message “Connect your Google Drive account to browse and manage files” when disconnected. Click Connect.
3

Authorise with Google

You are redirected to Google’s sign-in and authorisation flow. Select the Google account you want to use, then grant CIM Build the permissions it requests to access your Drive files.
4

Return to CIM Build

After authorising, Google redirects you back to CIM Build. The Google Drive Integration card now shows Connected to Google Drive, confirming the link is active.
Each user connects their own Google account. Your connection is independent of your teammates’ Google Drive connections.

Import files from Google Drive during upload

Once connected, you can import directly from Google Drive whenever you upload drawings or documents to a project.
  1. Open your project and click Upload in the left sidebar.
  2. Choose your upload context (Tender Set, Addendum, Contract Set, or Revision) and file type (Drawings or Documents).
  3. In the upload zone, select Import from Google Drive instead of dragging local files.
  4. Browse to the file you need. Use the breadcrumb trail to navigate into folders, or use the quick-access shortcuts at the top of the picker:
    • Shared With Me — files and folders others have shared directly with you.
    • Shared Drives — any Google Shared Drives your account belongs to.
  5. Select the PDF files you want to import.
  6. Continue through the upload flow — assign disciplines, create or choose a revision set, and click Process.
CIM Build only accepts PDF files. If a file in your Drive is not a PDF, you will be prompted to convert it before importing.

Disconnect Google Drive

To remove the connection between your CIM Build account and Google Drive:
  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations.
  2. On the Google Drive Integration card, click Disconnect.
Your Google authorisation is revoked immediately. You can reconnect at any time by following the connect steps above.
Disconnecting Google Drive only affects your own account. Files already imported and processed in CIM Build are not deleted.
