Clash Analysis automatically detects conflicts between different disciplines in your uploaded drawings. Rather than manually cross-referencing drawings from architecture, structure, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, CIM Build processes the drawing sets together and identifies where elements from different disciplines clash — giving you a prioritised list of issues to resolve before they become costly on-site problems.
Clash Analysis requires the contract baseline to be set before it will run. If you have not yet set a contract baseline for your project, open the Documents page and lock in your contract drawing set first. See Setting the contract baseline for instructions.

How clash analysis runs

Clash analysis runs automatically as part of CIM Build’s processing pipeline after you set the contract baseline. You do not need to trigger it manually — once the baseline is established and your drawings have been processed, the analysis begins in the background. You can monitor progress on the Status page. Under Active Analysis, you will see the Clash Analysis tool with a status badge showing Running or Complete, along with a description of what is currently being processed. See Monitoring processing status for more details.

Accessing clash analysis results

1

Open Clash Analysis

Click Clash Analysis in the left sidebar. The page shows your project’s revision history in the sidebar, grouped under Latest Revisions.
2

Select a revision

Click a revision in the sidebar to load its clash analysis results. The sidebar entry shows the revision name, the date it was received, the number of drawings it contains, and discipline badges for each discipline present.
3

Review the results

The main panel shows clashes grouped by discipline. Each entry shows the drawing number, drawing title, a summary of the changes detected, and the number of individual clash items found. Expand any drawing to see the individual clash register entries for that comparison.
4

Open a drawing

Click Open drawing on any result row to open the full drawing viewer for that comparison, where you can inspect the clash in context and review any associated register items.

Viewing modes

Use the toggle at the top of the results panel to switch between two perspectives:
  • Since last issue — shows clashes relative to the most recent drawing issue, so you can see what new conflicts have emerged in the latest revision.
  • Vs contract — shows clashes relative to the contract baseline, giving you the full picture of how the current design deviates from the contracted set.

Searching results

Use the search bar at the top of the results panel to filter by drawing number, drawing title, file name, or change summary text. Results update as you type.

Custom comparisons

In addition to the automatic revision-based analysis, you can run a custom comparison between any two specific files. Custom comparisons appear in the Custom Comparisons section of the sidebar. Click any saved comparison to reload its results.

Exporting

Click the Download icon in the sidebar toolbar to export the clash analysis results. The export button is enabled once results are available for the selected revision or comparison.
